"Silver Shoes" is an award-winning trilogy intertwining three short stories about the carnal power of what we wear. Fun, bittersweet, surprising, and intimate, the stories may or may not be connected. It’s up to you to decide.
- In "Silver Shoes: Undressed," AnnaBelle discovers that her delicate friend Liandra is hiding a tough masculine side under her flowered clothes.
- In "Silver Shoes: The Housesitter," a lonely young woman (AnnaBelle) has a surprisingly intense reaction to what she finds in the owner’s closet.
- In "Silver Shoes: Mimosa," Liandra hosts a brunch party and meets Joost, a handsome man with fabulous trousers.
This movie was directed, produced, and cast by Jennifer Lyon Bell (Netherlands/USA). Original music composed by Arthur Cresté (aka Viktor von Daphodil).
Silver Shoes is the winner of the FPA "Movie of the Year" film award. It had its World Premiere at the London Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in 2015. It was a featured film in Berlin's Schwules Museum, and in the last three months has played in film festivals from New York to Switzerland.

EXPLICIT INTIMACY: SEX AS THE NEW FRONTIER IN FILM Erotic cinema, especially erotic cinema that incorporates explicit imagery into sex scenes, is nearly completely quarantined in the indie film world. For example, out of more than 8000 film festivals and screening events on FilmFreeway, only 25 mention that they accept erotic subject material. Not even half of 1%! Yet there’s a lush underground of ground-breaking modern erotic film which is aesthetically challenging, full of sexual diversity, and a hugely refreshing break from the clichés of sex and gender that pervade mainstream lovescenes just as much as they pervade the “adult” industry’s images. In this presentation, I screen several clips from the luminaries of this genre, and aim to highlight just what riches the festivals, video platforms, distribution channels are missing out on. What we will learn: 1. There are brilliant explicit erotic films out there that most people have never seen. 2. These films have educational and emancipatory value for our society. 3. We all can help break down this harmful artificial barrier between “sex film” and “real film” via practical tactics I can share. Like this presentation idea?
